Description about São Paulo's Law's College
In 1827, few years after the brazilian's Independence proclamation, São Paulo's Law's Academy was founded as a key institution to the nation's development. It was fundamental foundation for empire, because it was destined for formatting governors and public administers able to structure and lead the recent emancipated country. These intentions didn't take time to come true and the presence of graduated soon appeared in all the levels of national public live, including all the three powers.
From Law's College, its students and who left the University, started the main politic moviments of Brazil's history, since Joaquim Nabuco, Perdigão Malheiro and Pimenta Bueno's abolition and republic moviment of Prudente de Moraes, Campos Sales e Bernadino dos Campos until Diretas Já campaign of Ulysses Guimarães and Franco Motoro.
During the time, from Law's College appeared nine presidents, many governors, mayors and others figures. In the boiling cultural life that Law's College introduced to small century nineteen São Paulo, it was produced a wide number literature and poetic works, essays, thesis, which represented foundation of national intelectual life, cristalized in the figures of Álvares de Azevedo, Castro Alves and Fagundes Varella, romantics poetics whose names, recorded in marmore's plaque, for more than a century has head college's Homepage.
Law's college, futhermore, was the first institution to integrate USP in its foundation, in 1934. The first Chancellor, professor Reynaldo Porchat, was teacher of Law's College and there Chancellery had hosted at those times. Since then the Law's Academy- has been confused with São Paulo and Brazil's history- today, carries on accomplishing its mission, formatting not only new graduated but also great jurists and public men, highly capacited to defend and preserve the development in Law's State.
