Hello, guys! This is about my trip with a tour group in 2006 to Walt Disney World, in Florida, Usa. It was my first trip abroad and I went with my sister. I enjoyed very much every day I had. I loved to go with her! It surely was the best experience in my life! We went to many parks, such as Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Busch Gardens. In this video, you can see Cíntia (my sister), some of my new friends in the group and the tour guides. Take a look and PLEASE, leave comments!

          Mark, Frank and Tom are friends since they're children. They live in Canada with their parents and last vacation they decided to travel to California. The city was well-known because of the best parties in the summer and the most beautiful girls spending their vacation there. Their wish was to go there by themselves and do whatever they wanted.

          On January 6th the three friends arrived in California and they went to the hotel to take a nap to go out later. That night was going to be the most famous party of all summer in the city. But there was one problem: they didn't understand why the hotel was so empty, but some days before something strange had happened there. People had seen ghosts when the lights went off.

           They were ready to the party and when they got in the elevator, the lights went off again. They got stuck in it, so they started shouting for help, but nobody could listen to them. After a long time, trying to shout louder and louder, they gave up going to the best party. They decided to talk about frightening stories, when they felt something touching them. Was it something or maybe someone? They were afraid of what might happen. Someone started making noises with the hands and the mouth. They became quiet as they had never been before.

            Fortunately, the lights went on and the elevator became bright. They saw a figure going out. The only thing they wanted to do was to get out of the elevator and to go to the party, which might be almost finished. They passed by a man who looked at them with mysterious eyes. When they arrived at the party, they saw that same man there.

            During the party, they were looking for the pictures with reports on the walls, when they saw one with the man's picutre saying about how tragic his death had been. They became so frightened, but Mark woke up. It was just a nightmare.

           On my last vacation, I went to New York with my parents and my two sisters. I was so excited because my dream was to go there. I had the chance to visit all the tourist places, such as Times Square and Central Park. As we were too tired and sleepy when we arrived, we decided to go to the hotel, where we could take a nap and take a shower. So we could relax to start our amazing trip.

           On the following days, after being relaxed, we woke up early to go walking at Times Square; I was impressed with all those big stores and the low prices of the things that were from famous brands. Then we went to Central Park to take a lot of pictures and appreciate that beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, the satue of Liberty was closed for upkeep. The place where the World Trade Center was built was only a big hole; I became very sad seeing that because I remembered the September 11th.

          On the other hand, New York is a very interesting city. There are so many different kinds of restaurants, with mouthwatering options of food. Even though the city is very crowded, it is a wonderful place to go; for that reason I recommend it for everybody who wants to visit there. However, you can't go there without having a lot of time to visit most part of the famous places and stores, the best restaurants, the big parks, among others.

My teacher told us to publish our composition, so I decided to follow his advice and here you are: my composition!!

PERSONAL COMPUTER: THE GREATEST INVENTION OF XX CENTURY

Every day has its discoveries since human beings appeared on Earth. Every past second means that somebody anywhere around the world can have found a new solution for an old problem or maybe an answer to an old question. Our society was already very well developed but, since the turn of the century, things have changed in such an incredible speed and with so much technology that, sometimes, we get shocked when we see those new gadgets launched on the market.

By far the most technological product produced nowadays is the computer. This new "attraction" is something that everybody desires and it brings flexibility, agility, quikness, among others advantages that the owner will have if he/she buys one. Computers provide an incomparable comfort and it also has the power to connect people anywhere in the world. Maybe this last listed aspect is the most important one because people want to connect and have contact with relatives, friends or even unknown people from other countries.

Another fact that cannot be forgotten is that the Internet would not exist without computers. The Internet is such an important tool because it keeps a lot of information of anything you can possibli thinkof. It has a powerful capacity to mantain people connected offering thousands of sites with so diversified content that satisfies everybody and with and unforgettable issue: the linguistic plurality which means that there is no linguistic barrier.

Considering everything that has been said, it would certainly be a crazy decision to think that computers are not the greatest invention of XX century.

Hey guys!! I´m back!! I finally got the access to the Internet and I´m here to publish some new things about me!!

On my introduction, I forgot to put some pictures, and now I have the opportunity to do it!! So here they are...

That´s me!! This foto was taken like 2 weeks ago at my friend´s house (Lorena) before we went to a party! It was such a funny day and we had a looooooot of fun!! =D

This is me again on my 15th birthday party!! It was not a big party, but I could invite all of my best friends and it was, how can I say... P-E-R-F-E-C-T! Everybody was there with me enjoying the night and I felt very happy with them!! I danced a lot and had a lot of fun! I don´t have words to express how beautiful and special it was!!

Ohhhhhh guys take a look at this place!! Come on, it´s such a beeeeeautiful place!! That´s a kind of lake near to Maceió, a city here in Brazil! I go to Maceió EVERY year ´cause part of my family live there so I go there on vacation to relax a little! I go there since I was a baby until today and I simpli LOVE to go there!! All my cousins, aunts, uncles, my grandma and granpa live there and I always have a lot of fun when I go there!!

P.S: Can you see, I wasn´t as white as I am!! haha =D

              The last century was marked by many historical facts, such as wars, commerce innovaton and other things. Moreover, there were many inventions that are present and still active until nowadays. The society of the XXI century really needs to communicate. So in this sense, no doubt do we have that the Internet, invented in 1969, was the greatest invention of these last years.

              Human beings need communication. Because of the enormous population on Earth with its several languages, the society needed to make things easier; That is, faster, more approachable and practicable. So that's what the Internet offers. For example: by this invention, many people are now able to talk to another person, from another, from another completely different country. Also, there is the famous e-mail, which is very accessible.

            The society of this century must be more evolved. That means that we need more knowledge. Being informed is one of the most important aspects for the population in general because every year, it gets harder to get a job and, having information, it becomes less hard. The Internet is a great way to get it because it comprehends news from all around the world and it's also more specific than some books, for example.

            This great invention has revolutionized people's lives. In a couple of years, the people will probably be using only the computer for work, fun or even economic reasons. Also, a considerable part of the world communication will be by the Internet. A new age has alredy started and human beings must be prepared for it today and tomorrow.

      The XX century will always be remembered because of the big number of inventions that became an important aspect of this century. So many things became easier with the invention of the blender, the electronic microscope, the first computer, the DVD, among others. However, the best invention was the cell phone.

      The mobile phone was invented in 1983. It has brought some facilities to people since then. The first cell phone was enourmous, but it served to help in the world's communication. But now cell phones have more functions, sizes and prices. They can support many additional services like SMS for text messaging, internet and other kind of things as well.

      The world communication has improved since the invention of the portable electronic device. Peolpe can communicate in long distances, anytime, anywhere as well send archives like photos, music and emails to other people or maybe to a computer. The mobile phone has been sold all over the world. In the United Kingdom, there are more cell phones than people, like in other countries. People from all ages and from low and high societies have the privilege of having such a good device. The top five in order of market share are Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony-Ericsson and LG.

     Anyway, there's no doubt that cell phones offer a really good media service, making our lives easier. It is becoming more and more important because people are having more chances to buy one; also buying conditions are improving considerably.

Hey guys! after some time being far from this blog, here I am again. I was very busy the last weeks and then I didn't made a post here.

Anyway..today I decide to tell you about music. I play the clarinet at the Band from the Military School.

That's why I put here this video (made at the celebration of Father's Day): for you to see how a show of our band is like and also for you to know little bit more about brazilian kinds of typical music. 

In this video, a lot of song are played. But I want to ask you to pay most attention on the first song that is played, cause it's a pout-pourri of typical music from the Northeast side of Brazil, such as Asa Branca and the rhythm called "frevo".

    Hi everybody, I`am Lucas, a Brazilian guy. I`m writing this menssage from Casa Thomas Jefffeson, the place where I do my english course. I`am in the last year of my high school life, but I don`t know what I want to do in the colege. I really like P.E. but, I want to do Law.

   I like sports so much, and of course as a typical brazilian my favorite is soccer.  Another sport that I like is Kung Fu, that I train for 2 years, but in my freetime I always play soccer.

   About music, I`am very ecletic. I like rock, classical, MPB ( Brazilian popular music ), eletronic and brazilian funk.

   I like too much to make new friends, and meet people from diferents countries. I really want one day go to Europe and visit the most number of contries that I can.

First of all, I hope you enjoyed my introduction!

After knowing me better, I'll show some pictures of my last vacation. It was in Natal-Rio Grande do Norte. It was the first time that I went there and I loved it! Actually, I always go to Florianopolis-Santa Catarina so, my family and I tried another place and now I'm sure it worth the visit.         

This photo was taken at Ponta negra Beach! It is a well-known beach because of Morro do Careca...

This other was in Genipabu, I was riding a "Dromedario" that is an animal that looks like a camel.

Finally, this picture was taken under the water! I was diving in Maracajau. It was wonderful...an amazing experience!

 These are pictures of my 15th old party that happened on november 15th last year. It was in "Espaço da Corte", a well-known place for parties, graduations, weddings, auctions, celebrations in general. It was everything magic for me, the party of my dreams. All my friends and family were there to celebrate with me that unforgettable night. The food was peeeeerfect! It had many kinds of shrimps, salads, filet, desserts and chocolates! I performed a "tango" choreography, it was veeery nice! Everybody liked it! I'll try to put here a little video that my friend filmed by his cellphone, that's why it's not very good to see, but you can have an idea of how perfect it was!      My name is Lorena and I am 15 years old. I was born in Goiânia, the capital of Goiás, in Brazil. Unfortunately, my parents were living here, in Brasília, that's why I live here with them. If I could live alone, I would live in GYN (Goiânia) because most of my cousins live there and I'd like to stay with them most part of the time.

    I study at Sigma, the one in Asa Sul, since I was six! I love that school. The teachers and friendships that I did there since the first day I went to have classes are very important to me. In my free time, I like to speak to my friends on the MSN, see videos on "youtube", watch soap operas, hang out with my friends and my family, among other things. I can play volleyball since I was 10, it's my favorite sport! When I finish high school, I wanna study medicine at UNB or UFG. If I do good exams on both universitites, I'll decide to go to UFG to live in Goiânia, my citytown.

That's why I don't do the same thing always...Talking about other things, I enjoy speaking English because I can talk with a lot of people in the world if I know that language. Also, here in Brasilia, if you can't speak English, it will be probably hard for you to get a job. To know English is considered "basic" in this city. However, I like Spanish too. It's a dinamic language that matches me.
