Final project - Animoto videos
Guys,
What you have to do for your final project is create a video with pictures from one event (a trip, a party, etc) and write a brief description of the event, saying why you chose that event to create a video for. Don't forget to add a song related to the event and also say why you chose that song.
Here is an example of an animoto video I have just created with my NYC pictures:
Here is a little tutorial on how to create animoto videos just like mine:
Important info:
site: www.animoto.com
promo code: ict08
observation: if you try to upload pictures, animoto uploads them, but they don't appear as uploaded (or some of them don't), that's because the pictures are too big. There are many ways of resizing a picture. You can use one of these websites: shrinkpictures.com or resize2mail.com or you can download picasa (a software from google), which I love, and besides resizing the picture, you can also edit it in many ways.

We're on the news!
Hey guys!
Check this out! The Sacramento Bee, this newspaper from Sacramento, California, has written an article about the Sister Classes Project, which we are a part of. Remeber we did the voicethread to introduce Brazil and included it in a blog where many students from other places commented? So, that's the project.

Let's get intercultural

Hey guys!
It's time to get intercultural
As I told you, our voicethread has been published in many different places, and every day there are new voice comments being added. Remeber you can always record more things there, and in any picture. You can respond to comments or even answer questions with you voice. Don't be shy!
Also, Larry Ferlazzo's students, from Sacramento, California, have left many questions for you - mot of them questions to specific people - in the Student Showcase blog. So try to use some of your time to go there and answer some of the questions, especially the ones asked especifically to you.
To answer the questions, go to the Student Showcase blog, look for a post called "An Introduction to Brazil" (that's one of the places where I posted our voicethread), click "xx comments", scroll all your way down to very end of the page, fill in the required fields with your information (in website type your blog's url: http://finally5b.21classes.com/yourusername and your name will be a link to your blog), write the comment and click "submit comment". Don't forget to write your blog's url at the end of your comment in order to advertise it.
That's it! I hope we can all learn more about other cultures!

Second Assignment
Hey guys!
Congratulations, you're all doing a very good job customizing your blogs, writing your intros and visitng other people's blogs. It's time to start some interaction outside our classrooms, though.
My dear friend Ana Maria, an English teacher from Uberlândia, has begun a project similar to ours with her students. Her and Danubia's students' blogs are at:
www.pageflakes.com/anamariacult
(there are navigation tabs on the top written Ana Maria's group, Danúbia's group, etc)
I suggest you visit their blogs, leave some comments and advertise your blogs for them to visit. Remeber the url to your blog is http://finally5b.21classes.com/username, for example, the url to my blog is http://finally5b.21classes.com/ronaldoj
Have fun!
