composition about doing something for the first time
My first travel
Indeed, I had always dreamed about foreign travels, but crucially to visit New York. First and foremost, this city has been renowned as a "melting pot", for many races, religions and nationalities that had come there in search of better opportunities. Moreover, it's widely recognized that its influence is obvious in the many international restaurants and shops throughout the city. Frankly, there's no doubt that a trip to New York can be as riveting as a quick trip around the world.
My first travel happened at the turn of the century, in 1999. When you arrive, the first thing is the hustle and bustle continuing as the clubs and bars opening their doors to the night life, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Throughout the day, tourists visit shops, newsstands, bars and restaurants. One of the main attractions, of course, is Broadway. Finally, I hung around with friends to watch some foreign movies, which are shown in over sixty cinemas in Manhattan.
So many types of entertainment exist in New York that almost anyone's taste can be satisfied. For example, if one whishes to hear classical music, there are many programs offered at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and other music halls. In addition, the New York Philharmonic and visiting orchestras give concerts all year round. To be honest, the atmosphere was so great that hardly had I seen opera as well as by a number of smaller companies.
Even though art or museum enthusiasts went for almost every form exhibited in the numerous and gallery, I ranted and raved at my friends about the pictures because everything got "awe-inspiring". It's difficult to put into words, but it would seem tacky, pointless. So in this sense, it's hard to put a finger on exactly what makes the paintings so exorbitant.
Thus, wherever I was, the strong national spirit would have been in-your-face, the U.S. flag would have got across the north-americans' proud and the sweaty mass of seething humanity would have made an unusual impression, despite of being loud and clogged. Therefore, not only did some facts work its magic on me, but more importantly came over my mind as well.
